What is the Decade of Youth Action?

The Decade of Youth Action is a Friendship Ambassadors initiative created as a response to the United Nations Secretary-General’s call for accelerated solutions to our world’s biggest challenges. The initiative aims to mobilize all sectors of society to engage youth and support youth-led initiatives that advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

Theme and Agenda

Accelerate! Youth for SDGs 2030

July 8, 15, 22 (Pre-conference Sessions) •  August 7–9 (Conference)

With only 10 years left, urgent action is needed by all sectors of society to expedite progress towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The COVID-19 global pandemic has disrupted the world as we know it and has rendered action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) even more urgent. Young people – through their ingenuity, energy, open-mindedness, and entrepreneurship – are in a unique position to bridge the gap between the SDGs and advancing the remaining work needed to achieve them.
