Declaration of Priorities

The Declaration of Priorities will set out the primary issues and areas of global concern where youth action can support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The document will be shaped through consultations and input from the Global Action and Impact Network and YA25 Delegates and will be presented at a civil society meeting at the United Nations.

As the UN calls for ideas and solutions from all sectors and actors, the Declaration of Priorities contributes to the larger dialogue with the youth perspective at its core.

DISCUSSION GUIDE

What issues do we need to tackle, address, or take action on as a global youth community?

Environment

Primary SDGs: 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

What should be the top three priorities of young people when it comes to addressing environmental problems?

Deliberate or discuss with others the following guide questions to derive with your answer:

What are the most important climate issues in your community? Are people in your community aware of these issues?

What are the most important actions to take against climate change for your generation?

How does climate change affect the achievability of other SDGs such as Gender Equality, Reduced inequalities, No hunger and Eliminating all forms of poverty everywhere?

How can we take measures on these priorities as a global youth community?
