  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Assist in the design, planning, and execution of the core program of The Youth Assembly
    • Join the Program Coordinator in developing engaging and high-quality program sessions around content and topics inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
    • Conduct research on sustainable development, humanitarian, and youth issues, as well as on the foremost organizations in these fields to determine possible program partners.
    • Help secure speakers and work with high-level experts from the public and private sectors, leading NGOs, and international institutions to form panels for in-depth discussions at the conference.
    • Liaise with top experts, academics, and social impact leaders, via email or conference calls, to ensure excellent preparation for the conference sessions.
    • Prepare detailed concept notes with content questions and discussion points, as well as logistical information, for speakers.
    • During the conference, act as a manager for conference sessions, leading a team of volunteers to handle the speakers, audience, and tech needs of sessions over the entire course of the conference.
    • Support any other administrative or organizational tasks as required for the successful execution of The Youth Assembly, including arranging schedules, timetables, passes, thank you notes, and other materials for speakers.
    • Conduct post-event evaluation, debriefs, and drafting of summary and resolution documents to ensure that The Youth Assembly generates impact beyond the conference itself.

    Qualifications

    • 1-2 years relevant internship and/or work experience preferred
    • Strong interest and experience of research in international affairs, sustainable development, and youth leadership
    • Knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals, leading international institutions, and the United Nations
    • Must be able to work thoroughly, with strong attention to detail, but also efficiently and under strict deadlines
    • Have a creative approach to developing ideas and solving problems
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and email and phone etiquette
    • Ability and experience in writing formal documents, or on complex contemporary issues a huge plus
    • Total comfort using G-suite services, including email, docs, and slides
    • Strong attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skills
    • Demonstrated improvisational skills, and the ability to handle situations under pressure, a bonus

  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Support the execution of communication projects and campaigns that advance the foundation’s mission of creating a better world through youth exchange, development, and action.
    • Play a vital role in helping transform our strategic goals into engaging visuals and dynamic content
    • Develop, write, and edit content across different channels (e.g. blog, email marketing, social media)
    • Assist in executing communication activities during events and conferences, including livestream, reportage, interviews, and photo/video documentation
    • Understand and translate strategic organization goals and requirements into visually compelling graphics or communication materials (e.g. brochures, banners, flyers)
    • Identify media contacts and pitch timely and relevant stories
    • Organize and maintain photo, video, and media archives
    • Assist the team with miscellaneous tasks as needed

    Qualifications

    • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Film/Photography, or Graphic Design; International Relations major with interest in Global/Cultural Communications are welcome
    • At least one year of relevant internship experience is required; work experience preferred
    • Must be able to provide a portfolio of sample written or graphic design work
    • Must be savvy in all major social media platforms
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills for various media
    • Graphic design, photography, video editing experience preferred
    • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, photo and video editing applications
    • Familiarity of content management platforms, web development tools, HootSuite, HTML, and CSS
  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Develop new ideas to better engage youth during and post-Youth Assembly
    • Research partners/sponsors for career-oriented and professional development opportunities
    • Conduct outreach and follow-up with United Nations Permanent Missions
    • Assist with scheduling Mission Visits
    • Assist with youth leadership programs
    • Assist with The Youth Assembly social venture competition, the Impact Challenge
    • Assist in the selection process for Youth Assembly awards
    • Assist in the creation of youth development panels and info sessions
    • Identify and engage talented youth during The Youth Assembly
    • Organize and maintain databases
    • Help draft and proofread letters and other communications, as needed
    • Help conduct post-Youth Assembly activities
    • Collaborate with other departmental teams for planning youth engagement and development
    • Assist with other miscellaneous tasks as needed

    Qualifications

    • 1-2 years of relevant internship and/or work experience preferred
    • Must have a strong interest in international development and youth development
    • Experience or knowledge of the United Nations preferred
    • Must be able to work under strict deadlines in a collaborative environment

    • Assist staff in processing Delegate Package applications and registrations
    • Answer delegate inquiries over the phone and email
    • Help staff in facilitating all-conference and especially the special events logistical details and arrangements including supplies, food, transportation, and accommodation
    • Work with the Special Events Planning & Logistics Coordinator in leading groups of delegates during the Youth Assembly and extended programs
    • Proactively troubleshoot any emerging problems during both the planning and the actual days of the event
    • Assisting with other miscellaneous tasks as needed

    • Become a part of the Youth Assembly Registration Committee, which oversees selecting and processing delegate applications based on established procedures
    • Assist Head of the Youth Assembly Registration Committee in reviewing, selection, and processing of incoming applications and payments
    • Answer delegate inquiries over the phone and email
    • Assist in setting up and breaking down registration/information desk during the Youth Assembly
    • Welcome attendees, distribute their passes, and check-in attendees as they arrive at the desk and distribute their conference materials
    • Proactively troubleshoot any emerging problems during both the planning and the actual days of the event
    • Assist with other miscellaneous tasks as needed

    • Gather key takeaways and build up the conversation at the conference through engaging live tweets, Facebook Live videos, and IG stories
    • Identify and engage active and talented youth during The Youth Assembly to feature on social media
    • Assist communications/media team or partners in facilitating interviews or media activities when necessary

  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Help with the execution of The Youth Assembly program to create and maintain a superb experience for speakers and delegates in every session of the conference
    • Engage with and assist conference speakers, offering them logistical support and guidance around the conference area
    • Ensure rooms for events are perfectly prepared for each session
    • Replenish speaker tables with bottled water every session
    • Make sure the conference rooms are clean, and assist with the general management of the audience before, during and after sessions
    • Maintain room capacity and check in delegates coming into your assigned room
    • Handle any online or hard-copy materials needed by speakers in and out of the room in coordination with other team volunteers when necessary
    • Report to the head of Programs and assist the Program Team or conference speakers during session activities as needed
    • Escort a group of delegates to a Permanent Mission
    • Assist main staff with other tasks as needed

    Qualifications

    • Experience running or organizing events or workshops

  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of activities or initiatives that offer exciting opportunities for delegates/observers at the conference
    • Identify and engage active and talented youth during The Youth Assembly to participate in activities
    • Attend conference sessions, including the Impact Challenge and engage with youth; assist partners as needed
    • Assist peer mentors with sessions
    • Escort a group of delegates to a Permanent Mission
    • Table opportunities during the conference
    • Set up and clean up tabling materials
    • Report to the head of Youth Development
    • Assist main staff with other tasks as needed

  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Be part of the team in charge of delegate relations (welcoming, checking in, and helping delegates with inquiries) as well as traffic control throughout the conference
    • Assist in setting up and breaking down the registration desk
    • Welcome attendees in front of the gate and distribute their passes
    • Check-in attendees as they arrive at the desk and distribute their conference materials
    • Assist delegates with their inquiries
    • Move the session materials in and out of the room in coordination with logistics volunteer
    • Help attendees find their way around the conference venue
    • Guide attendees to assigned rooms/seats
    • Report to the Head of Registrations
    • Escort a group of delegates to a Permanent Mission
    • Assist main staff with other tasks as needed

  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Play a critical role in creating a well-organized conference by helping ensure the smooth management of supplies and logistics
    • Assist in assembling and transporting conference materials before/during the conference and packing them up after the conference
    • Be in charge of conference and evening event supplies; Keep an eye on supplies and materials and their whereabouts
    • Organize the supplies and materials and place them in the appropriate areas
    • Distribute supplies to specific rooms and areas
    • Acquire or put together additional supplies/materials as needed (i.e. bottled water, name badges)
    • Report to the head of Special Events and Logistics
    • Escort a group of delegates to a Permanent Mission
    • Assist main staff with other tasks as needed

    Qualifications

  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Capture the indomitable spirit and passion of young leaders as they partake in heated debates and interactive workshops at the conference
    • Take high resolution and well-composed photos of important moments and activities
    • Serve as a cameraman for interviews when necessary
    • Assist head Photographer/Videographer if necessary
    • Report to the head of Communications
    • Assist main staff with other tasks as needed

    Qualifications

    • Event photography experience
    • Must have a photography portfolio; has camera gear/equipment
    • Based in or residing near Washington DC
  • Basic Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of seasonal programs beyond the flagship conference and be in charge of the facilitation of delegation groups from around the world
    • Guide and escort the Conference Plus participants based on their itineraries throughout the conference, evening events, meals, and accommodations
    • Stay with your group and assist your group members with their inquiries throughout the duration of their Conference Plus Package
    • Coordinate with delegation group leader when available
    • Ensure proper distribution of conference supplies and services to the group members
    • Register Conference Plus participants for the conference
    • Familiarity with New York City to guide participants is a plus, but not required
    • Report to the head of Special Events and Logistics
    • Escort a group of delegates to a Permanent Mission
    • Assist main staff with other tasks as needed
