SDGs: Zero Hunger, No Poverty, and Quality Education
The experience and knowledge gained at The Youth Assembly has changed my way of managing my venture, enlightened me more on global experiences, connected me with outstanding and disruptive thinkers like me, enlarged my span of connection and finally supported me in supporting other youths.Michael Abiola Olorode
Michael Abiola is a Nigerian economist and a tech-entrepreneur. He was born in Imeko-Afon local government, Ogun state, Nigeria, into a family of five. Michael’s family background shaped him to love the nature of the business and in 2017, he graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Having Elon musk as his role model, Michael’s passion has been to create something iconic. This motivated him to register his first company Nutrient Life in his third year in the university. The company is into agriculture and the production of consumable products.
In 2016, he fell in love with technology and the brain behind Artificial intelligence, so he co-founded a tech base company Ecolon Limited (ecolon.io) which gave birth to other tech ideas. That same year he was impassioned with the economic situation of Nigeria and became so passionate in proffering a solution. As a result, he created a subdivision of his company, Nutrient life Foundation. The idea is to support people faced with hunger and extreme poverty. He believes in his mother’s saying: “when Hunger is removed from poverty, poverty has been conquered.” So far, Nutrient Life Foundation has been able to touch over a thousand lives in South-west Nigeria. To raise the quality of education in his country, Michael is using Ecolon to offer free ICT classes to youths in his local government and to also help them become self-independent. His target is to touch millions of lives because he believes: ‘we rise by lifting others.’
