Bio
Maude Gorman is a 2017 graduate from Stonehill College, and is currently an Americorps VISTA fellow at Brown University. In her fellowship, Maude focuses on building systems to alleviate poverty throughout Providence, Rhode Island, and utilizes data and technology to maximize community engagement. As a survivor of rape at the age of 13, Maude has made it her life’s mission to be a voice for others, and advocate for victims’ rights. Throughout the years, Gorman has spoken at national and international conferences, colleges and universities, has testified for new legislation in the Massachusetts, and has advocated to U.S. Congress in Washington D.C. Furthermore, Maude has addressed the United Nations while representing the United States of America at the International Human Rights Summit, and currently serves as U.S. Ambassador to The Youth Assembly. Her awards include: 2016 Future Leaders Award – Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance; 2019 Honorary Awardee – National Organization for Victim Assistance.
