Mariana Saraiva de Melo Pinheiro is an Architecture and Urbanism major from the University of Fortaleza, Brazil. She has been working deeply towards reducing inequality and extreme poverty in her city, which holds the title of one of the most violent and socially unequal of the world.
Coordinator of the Young Leaders Project, she intends to develop leadership skills on the youth from the outskirts of Fortaleza, providing them a pathway of personal and professional growth and stimulating their engagement on promoting social change. She is also co-founder of the Rajada, a social initiative that aims to inspire the youth through a series of short films, that will document and share real achievements from the lives of other young people. Mariana is an entrepreneur and project manager of Construtiva Jr, a junior enterprise that offers services of architecture and engineering to the low class through accessible and affordable prices. Besides, she is currently starting a venture to leverage the quality of living of poor rural communities through empowerment, technology and the framer’s entrance in the organic food market.
Mariana first attended the Youth Assembly in 2018 as a Delegate and now undertakes the position of Ambassador of Brazil.
